CARDScan be used in games, BUT remember that cards are also used in activities that let your child focus on the sounds and sound combinations that you are saying. Have activities where there is no expectation for your child to repeat the sounds or words. Be focused on listening: quiet, face-to-face. Some ideas: a child who likes coloring can color a card will hearing the word. an active child might like a tickle game: you show the card, say the word and use your hand with the card to give a little tickle.
...ideas can be fun (or sometimes challenging) to come up with. Remember, keep your activity fun by asking 'what does my child like to do?' |
