Speech-Language Therapy in your home

Serving children birth to 5 years old

Toddler Talk is a private practice started by Holly Cavender-Wood, a California and ASHA certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). Across years of experience, Holly found that sessions in the home enviornment have added benefits to them in comparison to sessions in schools and clinics. Children are more relaxed, therapy is more applied and conversations are more relevant to what children and families need from speech services for daily experiences. Toddler Talk is based on the idea of establishing best practice for children and their families.

Holly earned her Master's Degree with honors at top ranked University of Iowa and practiced early intervention speech-language pathology in Iowa prior to living in Danville. She combines clinical training with proficiency in navigating through Individualized Education Plans and school district speech services.

Holly focuses on supporting children who have communication delays and their families. More than providing therapy time, she aims to provide parents with speech strategies, background knowledge, activities for the family and support in obtaining appropriate services.

I enjoy preparing for sessions. Objects in your day to day can provide you with a lot to talk about. Consider pumpkins: they vary in size, weight, color, texture... and can be used creatively in play!

Participating in our community is great fun! I loved serving as the chairperson for the children's parade.
