The /w/ sound uses our lips. This helps us see how to make the sound!
We can break the /w/ sound apart into two vowels ('oo' and 'uh').
"oo" (like a cow says moo) has our lips move forward and get really round.
"uh" (like that filler sound people use whe talking- uh....) is relaxed; the mouth falls open slightly.

Practice at a level that has your child excited to play and wanting to talk. Respond to your child, sometimes providing a challenge, sometimes easing up to keep it fun. You are picking the level based off of what your child can do. In practice, you might be trying some words with 'oo + uh' and other words imitated. |
Level 1: You and your child say 'oo + uh' before flipping the card. (Talking before flipping the card is rather similar to saying the sound as a request. If I say this, then the card flips.) After you flip the card, tell your child what the picture is. (Listening, face-to-face)
Lavel 2: Your child might imitate the word after you. Do you need a strategy, such as modeling with a pause between sounds?
Level 3: As your child gains the /w/ sound s/he may try naming the pictures. Let your child know that you are listening (e.g.: I heard your new sound; Look at your lips move...). Also, be encouraging with trying a word over (e.g.: You can use your lips! ..w...and! Your turn!).
...there is no end to what we can do! We can make phrases (e.g.: my wand). -listen to your chid, have fun talking and keep your child's skills moving forward!
